Skaičiuojama, kad atkarpoje tarp Soboro ir A. Mickevičiaus gatvių iš viso bus paklota apie 17 tūkst. kv. metrų granitinės dangos.

Iš Kinijos į Lietuvą atplukdytos granito siuntos artimiausiu metu laukia išsamūs tyrimai. Pasak bendrovės „Laboratorinių bandymų centras“ vadovo Gedimino Kunčino, bus atliekami keturių tipų bandymai: vandens įgeriamumo, atsparumo šalčiui ir stiprumo gniuždant bei lenkiant.
