Vilniaus oro uostas praėjusį sekmadienį, spalio 9 dieną, pagerino praėjusių metų rekordą – kiek daugiau nei per 10 mėnesių aptarnavo tris milijonus keleivių. Palyginti su praėjusiais metais, pagrindiniai šalies oro vartai tokio skaičiaus keleivių sulaukė net 48 dienomis anksčiau nei pernai.
„2016-ųjų spalį galime laikyti rekordišku – pirmą kartą jau šimtmetį veikiančio oro uosto istorijoje per tokį trumpą laikotarpį išlydėjome trys milijoninį keleivį. Visada džiaugiamės, jog su kiekvienais metais keleivių, besirenkančių Vilniaus oro uostą savo kelionių pradžiai ar galutiniam taškui, skaičius auga, tačiau šie metai pranoko ir mūsų pačių lūkesčius. Tikime, jog besibaigiant metams pavyks perkopti ir 3,5 milijonų keliaujančiųjų ribą“, – kalbėjo Vilniaus oro uosto direktorius Artūras Stankevičius.
Laiminguoju šių metų trys milijoniniu keleiviu tapo Rasa Urbanavičiūtė, Vilniaus oro uostą pasirinkusi Skandinavijos oro linijų SAS skrydžiui į Stokholmą. Prieš pat kelionę keleivei simboliškai buvo įteikta Vilniaus oro uosto Privilegijų kortelė, leisianti iš sostinės keliauti dar patogiau.
Dar šių metų liepos 20 dieną Vilniaus oro uoste buvo užfiksuota du milijonai aptarnautų keleivių, prireikė šiek tiek daugiau nei dviejų mėnesių, kad šis skaičius išaugtų solidžiu milijonu keliaujančiųjų. Lyginant su 2015 metų sausio–spalio mėnesių rezultatais, per metus keleivių srautas Vilniaus oro uoste padidėjo 15 procentų.
Šiuo metu iš Vilniaus oro uosto reguliarius skrydžius vykdo 18 oro bendrovių, jos skraidina 57 kryptimis. Per šiuos metu sostinėje veiklą pradėjo nauja aviakompanija – „Germania“, startavusi su skrydžiais į Ciurichą, taip pat pradėta vykdyti maršrutus į Birmingemą, Nicą, Lvovą, Barį, išplėstas susisiekimas su Berlynu, Londonu, Talinu.
2016–2017 metų žiemos sezono skrydžių žemėlapis pasipildys kryptimis į Reikjaviką ir Grenoblį, taip pat iš Lietuvos sostinės oro uosto keleiviai bus skraidinami į Lidsą ir Maltą.

Mariellen, they are doing fine. They are in adjoining stalls and are making some progress towards being friendly. They will both take treats now which is a major milestone. When they got here, you couldn’t even catch them in the stall. They do not appear to be halter broken. I am pretty sure that I would not want to hitch them up to anything at their current level of training. They are very bonded to each other though.
