Naujo rekordo siekianti „The Longest Drive“ komanda pirmadienio rytą su visureigiu „Porsche Cayenne“ jau buvo įveikusi pusę visos maždaug 17 tūkst. kilometrų kelionės. Jei viskas klosis pagal planą, be sustojimo važiuojantis trijų narių ekipažas, tarp kurių yra žurnalistas bei keliautojas Vitoldas Milius, penktadienį kirs Žemės rutulio pusiaują ir pradės paskutinį savo rekordinės kelionės trečdalį.
„Per šį trumpą laiką jau spėjome užtektinai pamatyti ir patirti – Danijoje per vos 8 minutes sugebėjome pakeisti žiemines į prastai kelio dangai pritaikytas padangas. Turkijoje teko beveik parą stovėti vietoje, o vėliau stebėti, kaip „Porsche“ pakraunamas į krovininio lėktuvo skyrių, ir skristi kartu“, – kelionės įspūdžiais dalijosi V. Milius, pakaitomis su kitais dviem ekipažo nariais pilotuojantis „Porsche“ visureigį.
Pasak V. Miliaus, be didesnių sunkumų pavyko kirsti ir vieną sunkiausiai automobiliu įveikiamų valstybių sienų pasaulyje tarp Izraelio ir Egipto. Pastarojoje šalyje ant „Porsche Cayenne“ visureigio teko užsidėti keistokos išvaizdos numerius ir važiuoti kartu su visa saugumo automobilių palyda.
Kaip parodė komandos patirtis, dėl padidintos talpos kuro bako automobilis su vienu kuro užpylimu įveikia vidutiniškai net 2 400 km atstumą. Tuo metu salono viduje įrengtame šaldytuve yra užtektinai maisto atsargų visai kelionei, tad komandoms nariams tikrai netenka kęsti alkio.
„The Longest Drive“ komanda iš šiauriausio Europos taško Nordkapo pajudėjo praėjusio šeštadienio popietę. Per keturias dienas ir 12 valandų komandos „Porsche“ automobilis jau buvo kirtęs 11-os valstybių – Norvegijos, Švedijos, Danijos, Vokietijos, Čekijos, Slovakijos, Vengrijos, Serbijos, Bulgarijos, Turkijos ir Egipto, – teritoriją. Atkarpą tarp Stambulo ir Tel Avivo „The Longest Drive“ komandai teko įveikti krovininiu lėktuvu. Toks variantas pasirinktas dėl pilietinio karo Sirijoje, per kurios teritoriją nėra galimybių važiuoti automobiliu.
Kad pasiektų savo kelionės tikslą – Adatos kyšulį Pietų Afrikos Respublikoje, – „The Longest Drive“ ekipažui dar teks įveikti 10-ies Afrikos valstybių teritorijas. Norėdami pagerinti ankstesnį rekordą, jie kelionėje turi užtrukti ne ilgiau kaip 9 dienas 4 valandas 9 minutes ir 27 sekundes. Komanda planuoja finišuoti gegužės 16 dieną, pirmadienį.
„The Longest Drive“ ekipaže be V. Miliaus yra danas Jan Kalmar ir pietų afrikietis Shaun Neill. Jų pilotuojamas „Porsche Cayenne“ buvo specialiai paruoštas tokiai kelionei pridėjus papildomas apatinės kėbulo dalies apsaugas, saugos lankus viduje, gervę ir galingus LED žibintus priekyje, šaldytuvą ir 221 litro talpos kuro baką. Visureigio ratus suka gamyklinis šešių cilindrų dyzelinis variklis, išvystantis 245 AG galią.

Awesome tips! Your “couch date” sounds like our “at home dates”. Dinner and a movie certainly don’t have to be outside of the house! The extra good part about where we live is that we live upstairs from a cafe that has a bar! So we often put the kids to bed and go downstairs with the baby monitor.
